Luke 1:34

“How can this be?” (NIV)

After feeling, understandably, afraid and overwhelmed, and receiving the angel’s comfort to not be afraid, Mary did next what we all do - she began to ask questions. “Excuse me… but how can this be?” Mary knew the facts of her situation from her perspective. She knew she had never been with a man, and from her perspective, this had to be impossible. But as always, we cannot see a situation the way God would see it. He already knew how He would intervene, but He allowed Mary to ask questions.

Sometimes we have a tendency to think God isn’t big enough to handle our questions. Oftentimes, we genuinely question because we only see things from our perspective. It’s okay. God can handle our questions. In fact, I like to think He even welcomes them. When we question, He knows we are diligently searching. And knowing that we are diligently searching for the truth, He delights in knowing that we will find it in Him.
