Someday Devotional: Day 14
Devotional by Sandi Patty (2000)

Luke 1:46-55
“Oh, how I praise the Lord. How I rejoice in God my Savior.”
“Oh how I praise the Lord. How I rejoice in God my Savior.” These 10 verses have been traditionally called “The Magnificat: Mary’s Song of Praise.” What I love about the implication of this passage is that Mary got so excited and overwhelmed with joy and thanksgiving, she just had to sing!!!! How cool is that? Sometimes, we just gotta’ sing. We need to stop along our journey, as Mary has done, and lift our hearts and voices in songs of praise to Our Father.
When you feel like singing, just do it. Just throw your head back, open your mouth and let ‘er rip. You may be thinking that only a few people are meant to ‘sing.’ Let me tell you something. Our only responsibility when it comes to singing, according to the Psalms, is to “make a joyful noise.” Just any kind of noise that is joyful. See, it doesn’t even have to be on pitch. It just has to be full of joy. Now, anyone can do that.
